In 2023, in a context marked by geopolitical uncertainty in Europe and a relative economic slowdown, electricity demand in the ENTSO-E countries as a whole fell by 3.3 % compared to the previous year. Demand in each country fell across the board, while only Portugal, Norway, Denmark and the Netherlands saw increases in demand, the latter being the largest, with a 4.1 % increase over the previous year.
